Barmouth Road – London’s first Enerphit

Our clients Luigi and Jane were undertaking a renovation of a building which hadn’t really had any work done to it since the 1960s. They knew that this provided the ideal opportunity to do something amazing and decided to go for an EnerPHit retrofit.

We worked with Richard from Alexander Bridges and Reality HG Builders to achieve the first certified EnerPHit in London. Warm Associates provided the certification.

The modeled heat demand was 225 kWh/m2/year before the works and 23 kWh/m2/year afterwards. The team achieved an airtightness level of 0.87 ach @ 50 pa.

greentomatoenergy provided the initial design brief, detailed design work, onsite project management and our Passisash triple-glazed windows.

Now that the project is finished, Luigi’s advice to anyone considering an EnerPHit retrofit is to “Get people that are buying into the objective that you want to achieve. You’ve got to have a bit of passion, and you’ve got to have someone who wants to achieve that as well”.
